NDM 2009Nancy Denning-Martin, Executive Director

Executive Director Nancy Denning-Martin brings a rich and diverse nonprofit experience and passion to her leadership of HHH.  Past experiences include having served as a Director of Volunteer Services for the Crisis Intervention Center, Vice President of Development for Monroe Harding Children’s Home and State Executive Director for MADD Tennessee.  In her tenure HHH has seen fund raising revenues increase by more than 200%, creating both long-term financial stability and program growth as well as the addition of new special events, the more than tripled expansion of the residential program and four new programs—The HHH Wal-Mart House, Waiting Room Adoption, Partner Hotels and Community Education Workshops. Nancy has been named in the “Top Forty under Forty” (2010) and a “Healthcare Hero” (2009) by The Nashville Business Journal, one of the “Ten Women to Watch in Healthcare” by Nashville Medical News (2008) and a member of the “Top Forty Under Forty” by The Tennessean (2004). In 2008, she also received the Nashville Emerging Leader Award (NELA) for Community Service and Nonprofit from the 20/20 Leadership Alliance.  In 2012, Nancy joined the Davidson County Foster Review Board and co-hosted the conference for the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses (now the Healthcare Hospitality Network).  Active in her church and community, Nancy lives in East Nashville with her husband, jazz guitarist Danny Ray Martin and their three children.

 

photoMimi Fondren, Associate Director

HHH Associate Director Mimi Fondren’s diverse background includes work both in the field of public relations and social work.  After serving as Deputy Director/Public Relations for the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, Mimi earned her MSSW from University of Tennessee in 2000.  Following graduation, she worked as a medical social worker at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before becoming a weekend supervisor with the Safe Place Program for the Exchange Club Family Centers of Nashville.  She returned to the world of PR for a few years with the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.  Now serving as Associate Director for the Hospital Hospitality House, Mimi supervises supportive case management for HHH guest, assists in the development and coordination of all programs , assists with development and coordinates public relations.  Mimi was recognized as a “Woman of Achievement, Behind the Scenes” by the Nashville Business Journal in 2009.  An active volunteer with Nashville Cat Rescue and other organizations, Mimi lives with her husband in East Nashville/Inglewood.

 

David Moore

David Moore, Operations Manager

Operations Manager David Moore found at HHH the opportunity to put his outstanding organizational, analytical and writing skills to work for a dynamic social service agency.  With a varied background that includes work as an Office Manager for Hupo LLC, as a teaching assistant in the English Department at UT Chattanooga, as a teller for First Tennessee, and as an investigative researcher for Kroll, David brings an eclectic work experience, a keen intuition, and a quiet compassion to his work at HHH.  With volunteer experiences including Hands on Nashville, Transit Now Nashville, Tennesseans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and the Academic Trivia Association, David is active in community activities.  He and his wife life in East Nashville with a young son.

 

Sherry Daniels (2)

Sherry Daniels, Volunteer and Program Coordinator

After 37 years in the mortgage and real estate industry, Sherry made the jump to her real passion—serving others.  In addition to her professional history, Sherry brings a long history of volunteer work that includes Room in the Inn, the Tennessee Children’s Home and many church programs to her role as Volunteer and Program Coordinator.  Sherry works most closely with the guests HHH serves as well the volunteers who donate so much time and expertise to our mission.  Her compassion and servant’s heart define her work and allow her to build relationships that help create this home away from home.  Sherry lives in Madison and spends her free time with her four children and eleven grandchildren.

 

Brittany

Brittany Atkins, Guest Services and Administrative Assistant

From Franklin, Ky. Brittany is a graduate of Western Kentucky University.  She recently completed an internship with the American Cancer Society Memorial Hope Lodge in Nashville, TN.  Prior to this, she honed her administrative and communications skills in a variety positions, serving as dental assistant/office assistant and a sales associate for a national retail chain.  An active member of her home church, Brittany has served as an usher, a choir member/director, and the Youth Director for the past 3 ½ years.  Having been closely affected by cancer, she has a heart for cancer patients, survivors, and the families dealing with the disease.

 

Patsy Robinson

Patsy Robinson, Weekend Program Coordinator

With a long history in nonprofit and social services, Weekend Program Coordinator Patsy Robinson moved from the Upper Cumberland Community Services Agency to working full time with children and part-time with HHH.  Her calm demeanor and easy smile underpin the service she provides to patients and guests on weekends when she serves not only as their first point of contact but also the go-to person for any and every need.  In four years, Patsy has created a stable and growing weekend program.  Patsy lives in Nashville where she continues to pursue higher education and loves spending time with family, friends and her beloved dog.
